Reference
The material this project runs on is not linkable web content. It is council packets, property assessments, federal tax filings, legislative archives, and audio recordings, most of which nobody has put online in any usable form.
So it lives in the open. Every document an investigation cites is published in full at Sources, and citations name the document by its path in the research archive. There is no separate bibliography to drift out of date, because the link is the citation.
The machinery, explained
Plain-language explainers for the machinery the investigations keep running into. Written to be definitions first, with the connection to the case stated at the end.
- What is an Industrial Development Board?
- What is a PILOT?
- The title-transfer mechanism
- 501(c)(4) vs. government instrumentality
Running records
- Confirmed falsehoods and half-truths. Specific published claims, checked against the record, with a verdict on each.
- Open threads. Questions that remain unanswered, and the records that would answer them.
